Inclusive Advent

There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus

Galatians 3:28

Each day of Advent we will consider how we can make our churches welcoming and open to all with a series of themed reflections and prayers. We seek to raise awareness about the ways that people feel excluded by the church.

You may want to start by reading some suggestions on how to use the Inclusive Advent Calendar.

The Inclusive Church movement has been running for over ten years, and works with individuals and partner organisations to raise awareness about the ways that people feel excluded by the church. The people involved with Inclusive Church come from differing traditions and differing locations but are united in one aim: To celebrate and maintain the traditional inclusivity and diversity of the Anglican Communion.

The 24 people who have written prayers and reflections for the Inclusive Advent Calendar were all chosen because of their knowledge of the area being covered. We are very grateful to them for sharing their thoughts. Their opinions are their own, and do not necessarily follow the opinions of either the Inclusive Church movement or any of our other contributers.
